Dr. Krista Gerau is a graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis , Missouri , where she received her Doctorate Degree, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. She is currently licensed in Arizona in both Chiropractic and Physiotherapy, and is a full member of the Arizona Association of Chiropractic in good standing.
Before chiropractic, Dr. Gerau was a massage therapist and enjoyed working with a number of athletes in the St. Louis area. With her extensive knowledge of the body’s musculature and its biomechanics, Dr. Gerau has had great success rehabilitating many athletic injuries, including rotator cuff injuries and golfer’s back and elbow.
Furthermore, with gentle cranial adjusting and muscle work, Dr. Gerau also finds it very rewarding to help relieve and correct various TMJ disorders brought on by whiplash, stress or dental complications. She is currently working in conjunction with several dentists in the Scottsdale area to this end.
Dr. Gerau practices several different chiropractic techniques, including Diversified, SOT, Thompson, Logan Basic, Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Release. Along with regular chiropractic adjustments, she feels that proper nutritional counseling is an important part of any complete health care plan. Dr. Gerau believes that every health care practitioner should be armed with an arsenal of knowledge and techniques in order to best address any and every patient complaint.
Dr. Gerau believes that chiropractic is the answer to today’s mounting health care challenges. She holds firm that the body’s ability to heal, and maintain that health, does not come from a pill in a bottle…it comes from within. True healing comes from the body’s ability to heal itself!
