Glen Porter FNP-C

Glen Porter was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, CA. Growing up in a beach community where people genuinely cared for each other, Glen learned to balance caring for people and being productive.

After receiving his Electronic Engineering degree from Cal Poly and then working to provide relief in West Africa during the blood diamond era, Glen realized that engineering had limited usefulness in aid work and that he should learn how to help people medically. Glen worked on a variety of enineering projects: Security systems for nuclear armed B-52 bombers, chemical reactors, and managed part of the Internet.

He went on to teach all aspects of computer technology and become program director at Westwood College in south Denver, where he helped the students from Columbine High School find direction in life and become successful. During this time, he also attained a Masters degree in Computing from Regis University.

Later, he became a registered nurse, worked in the Neuro ICU at the Barrows Neurological Institute in Phoenix, and attained a Masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (graduating with honors equivalent to Summa Cum Laude).

Glen hopes to return to Africa someday as a Medical missionary, build a new hospital, and provide care to the suffering.

Glen combines his experience with neurological conditions, pain syndromes, training as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and desir to help improve the human condition into practic by helping people live better lives through the care they receive at Metro Center Health.
